Door Systems Assembly Technician II

A day in the life

At the start of your shift, you’ll review the day’s traveler and standard work instructions, gather your components, and set up your station. You’ll assemble glass, doors, frames, and related subcomponents into precise sub-assemblies and finished units. Throughout the day you’ll switch between hand tools, electric drivers, and pneumatic equipment, making minor machine adjustments under supervision when needed. You’ll verify quality at each step using visual checks, tape measures, gauges, check fixtures, and calipers, documenting your results and escalating anything questionable to your lead or supervisor. Between builds, you’ll practice 6S to keep your area clean, safe, and organized, and you’ll pitch in across the team as production needs shift.

What you will do

• Build component parts into sub-assemblies and completed units by following travelers and standard work.
• Operate with hand, electric, and pneumatic tools to meet production goals.
• Maintain strong performance across safety, quality, productivity, and housekeeping metrics.
• Apply 6S principles to sustain a clean, orderly workspace for yourself and the team.
• Perform basic equipment setups or adjustments under supervision.
• Inspect parts and finished work using visual methods and precision tools (tape measure, gauges, check fixtures, calipers).
• Report suspect material or conditions promptly to a lead or supervisor.
• Follow SOPs and direction from leaders; cross-train and assist other processes as needed.
• Handle a variety of assembly tasks with minimal supervision.

Shifts and pay

• 1st Shift: 6:00 am–2:30 pm at $18.50 per hour
• 2nd Shift: 3:00 pm–11:30 pm at $20.50 per hour

Minimum qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 1–2 years of experience in production assembly
