Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Adheres to continuing education requirements in order to keep licensures current.
Attends and participants in weekly chart check rounds technical meetings and other meetings as necessary.
Completes all Monthly Chart Reviews Quality Assurance duties accurately and on time.
Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies procedures quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
Creates and transfers reference images to EMR including DRRs CBCTs and images for other IGRT methods.
Demonstrates proficiency in image registration with various image data sets to include CT MRI and PET.
Designs high quality treatment plans with optimal beam geometry to deliver a prescribed dose and spare critical structures in accordance with the Radiation Oncologist's prescription.
Identifies and contours normal and dose-limiting structures using detailed knowledge of anatomy.
Manually checks computer treatment plans for mathematical accuracy. Documents all pertinent information in the EMR. Ensure that the physician and technologist fully understand the plan and sign them before two treatments have elapsed.
Participates in meetings and on committees and represents the department and hospital in community outreach efforts.
Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Provides clinical support in the form of fabricating immobilization devices bolus or compensating materials assisting in patient setup and simulation performing hand calculations at the request of either the physician or a member of the technical staff.
Provides support and teaching to the physicists physicians and radiation therapists whenever needed.
Records and bills appropriate charges for services performed.
Minimal Qualifications Education
RTT (Radiation Therapy Technologist) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and training in dosimetry required or
graduation from an approved Medical Dosimetry school. required
Experience
Experience as an RTT (radiation therapy technologist) or graduation from an approved medical dosimetry school required
Licenses and Certifications
MDCB - Medical Dosimetry Certification Board Certification by the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board (MDCB) within 1 Year required
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of anatomy.
Good math skills.
Basic computer skills.
This position has a hiring range of :
USD $58.03 - USD $114.53 /Hr.
