Job Description Summary:
To provide high quality, professional and compassionate radiation therapy dosimetry work, under the direction of a Radiation Oncologist and the supervision of a Medical Physicist.

Medical Dosimetry Cert BOA (MDCB) required at hire.
Integrative Agitation Management (IAMTAC) Required within 30 days of hire
Prerequisite Skills:
Ability to accurately follow instructions; work professionally with or without supervision.
Communicate clearly and effectively with patients, physicians and staff.
Knowledge of dosimetry practice.
Ability to evaluate treatments plans for clinical value.
Ability to evaluate treatment plans acceptable in clinical situations.
Knowledge of dosimetry concepts, analysis of data and quality control of dosimetry calculations.
Ability to coordinate essential activities in workflow for radiation therapy treatments.
Knowledge of technical procedures in the department and the ability to carry out procedures in an accurate, safe and efficient manner.
Able to follow instruction and documented procedures in performing tasks on the computer workstations in an accurate, safe and efficient manner.
Knowledge comparable to college-level introduction courses in: anatomy, physiology, universal precautions, sterile procedure, occupational/radiation safety, mathematics, physics and medical terminology.
Ability to operate treatment equipment.
Familiarization with current theory and practice and new developments in radiation therapy and dosimetry.
Strong organizational skills.

Patient Privacy (HIPAA Compliance):
Duties And Responsibilities:
Essential (Not Modifiable)
Performs dosimetry calculations, including treatment time, point dose, monitor units, gap calculations, tissue inhomogeneity, diode dosimetry calculation and analysis. Performs dosimetry measurements as part of quality assurance of treatment plans.
Creates isodose plan - including coplanar and non-coplanar beam arrangements and intensity modulation via tissue compensation. Creates beams eye view and 3D simulation and IMRT plans on the treatment computer system per physician request.
Creates reconstruction of patient images from CT/MRI scans-building computer model of the patients anatomy and Tumor/Target volume based on the CT/MRI images.
Develops pre-simulation plans according to physicist request.
Accurately bills dosimetry and treatment device procedures.
Supervises block-cutting activities and performs quality control of the treatment devices to meet department standards.
Provides clinical consultation to radiation therapists and physicians on issues pertinent to dosimetry.
Provides staff education and in-services in dosimetry as needed.
Performs quality assurance, testing and documentation on TX planning computers according to department standards.

The posted pay range complies with applicable law and reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role. Individual pay is set by skills, experience, qualifications, and internal/market equity, consistent with MarinHealth's compensation philosophy. Positions covered by collective bargaining agreements are governed by those agreements.
