About this Role
PAR Electrical Contractors, LLC is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented DOT Manager to lead and oversee all Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance and fleet regulatory requirements across our operations. This role is critical to ensuring the company maintains full compliance with federal, state, and local transportation regulations while supporting safe, efficient field operations across multiple project sites. The DOT Manager will partner closely with Operations, Safety, HR, and field leadership to manage driver qualification programs, vehicle compliance, and regulatory reporting, while proactively identifying and mitigating risk.
What You'll Do
- Oversee and ensure compliance with all DOT regulations, including FMCSA requirements, across all operating regions
- Manage driver qualification files (DQFs), ensuring accuracy, completeness, and ongoing compliance
- Administer and monitor Hours of Service (HOS) compliance and electronic logging devices (ELDs)
- Lead DOT audits and inspections, including preparation, response, and corrective action plans
- Develop, implement, and maintain DOT-related policies, procedures, and training programs
- Partner with Safety and Operations teams to promote a strong culture of compliance and safe driving practices
- Track and report key compliance metrics, violations, and trends to leadership
- Manage drug and alcohol testing programs in accordance with DOT regulations
- Oversee vehicle registration, licensing (IRP), and fuel tax reporting (IFTA) requirements
- Investigate incidents related to DOT compliance and support corrective/preventive actions
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and external auditors
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Safety, Transportation, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in DOT compliance, fleet management, or transportation safety
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, HOS rules, driver qualification standards, and audit processes
- Designated Employer Representative (DER) certification required
- Experience managing DOT drug and alcohol testing programs and related compliance requirements preferred
- Experience managing multi-state or large-scale fleet operations preferred
- Familiarity with ELD systems, fleet management software, and compliance tracking tools
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to interpret regulations and translate them into practical business processes
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence across teams
- Proven ability to manage audits, resolve compliance issues, and implement process improvements
- Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a commitment to safety and operational excellenc
