MULTIPLE POSITIONS AVAILABLE!

 

Hourly Rate: $25.75 per hour

 

Position Summary: The DOT Truck Driver operates Class A air-braked equipped combination vehicles to and from Retail and Donation sites in a safe and efficient manner. Class B vehicles also available.

 

Salary: $25.75 per hour 

 

Schedule: This position works 4/10s (Four, 10-hour work days)

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:The DOT Truck Driver responsibilities Includes the following and other duties as assigned: 

  • Drives diesel powered tractor with 27’ or 53’ trailer between distribution center, retail stores and donation centers.   
  • Backs up trailer to loading dock.  
  • Places stairs against the back of the trailer to load items into trailer.  
  • May place chains on tires in snowy weather. 
  • No touch freight 
  • Class B, transport compactors and dumpsters to landfill or transfer station 

Daily Vehicle Inspection 

Complete daily pre/post trip inspections and maintenance checks; ensures that all aspects of vehicle operation and material handling are done according to proper safety procedures. Responsible for vehicle’s equipment and for reporting repair needs. 

 Follows Safety Procedures 

Adheres to all Goodwill and FMCSA safety regulations; reports all safety hazards, incidents, and accidents immediately. 

 Customer Satisfaction 

Build and maintain good rapport and relationships with customers and clients.

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:

  • CDL Class A or Class B
  • 3 - 6 months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Current Medical Examiners Certification (DOT Physical)
  • All offers of employment are contingent upon the receipt of a background check report, which may include a review of the applicant’s driving record and drug screening, as deemed acceptable by Goodwill.
  • Commercial Truck Driver Career Education Program is preferred, HS diploma or GED preferred
  • Exceptional analytical, judgment, decision-making and communications skills
  • Superior coaching, leadership and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build understanding and consensus
