Job Description

The Healthcare Superintendent will be responsible for:

1. Lead and oversee all aspects of Occupied building and MEP initiatives on large hospital and higher education projects, ensuring timely completion, quality control, and adherence to budgetary constraints.
2. Planning and Coordination: Develop detailed project plans, including scheduling, resource allocation, and material procurement, in collaboration with project stakeholders, subcontractors, and vendors.
3. Supervision and Leadership: Manage a team of field staff, including foremen, subcontractors, and trade workers, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback to ensure the successful execution of Healthcare projects.
4. Quality Control: Implement and enforce strict quality control measures to ensure that all MEP and medical equipment installations and systems comply with relevant codes, regulations, and project specifications.
5. Budget and Cost Management: Monitor project expenses, review cost reports, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality standards.
6. Safety Compliance: Ensure that all work activities adhere to safety protocols and regulations, promoting a safe work environment for all team members and subcontractors.

The Successful Applicant

The Healthcare Superintendent will have:

1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications and training in MEP systems and project management are highly desirable.
2. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in managing MEP initiatives, with a focus on large hospital and higher education projects. Previous experience working in a general contracting company is preferred.
3. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and building automation systems. Familiarity with applicable codes and regulations
4. Leadership Skills: Proven track record of successfully leading and managing teams on complex construction projects. Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills are essential.
5. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse project stakeholders. Strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.
6. Organizational Skills: Exceptional planning, time management, and organizational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
7. Safety Consciousness: Thorough knowledge of construction safety standards and practices, with a commitment to promoting a culture of safety on-site.
