Drafter / Designer

Pay Range:$44/hr-$48/hr

DayToDay Responsbilities:

• Create detailed 2D AutoCAD drawings for natural-gas distribution projects.
• Develop construction drawings and municipal permitting drawings for excavation and installation work.
• Build land-base drawings from scratch using field measurements and project information.
• Design new gas installations, relocations, service lines, and updates to existing gas facilities.
• Translate field measurements, markups, specifications, and project requirements into accurate and constructible drawings.
• Coordinate with field personnel to clarify measurements, locations, and design requirements.
• Revise drawings based on updated field information, project changes, and engineering feedback.
• Prepare sketches, layouts, working drawings, and supporting design documentation.
• Initiate and create jobs in SAP when required.
• Select and enter the appropriate compatible units for labor, materials, and job components in SAP.
• Support SAP Plant Maintenance and job-costing workflows.
• Manage multiple design assignments with quick turnaround times.
• Perform quality checks to ensure drawings and supporting documents are accurate and complete.
• Report to a design supervisor or team lead and collaborate with field, engineering, and project teams

Must-Have Qualifications

• Three or more years of strong, hands-on professional AutoCAD experience.
• Strong experience creating detailed 2D drawings from scratch, including land-base drawings, layouts, construction drawings, and permitting documents.
• Portfolio or work samples demonstrating the quality, accuracy, and detail of previous AutoCAD designs.
• Ability to translate field measurements and project information into accurate, constructible design drawings.
• Hands-on SAP experience initiating jobs, selecting the correct compatible units for labor and materials, and supporting Plant Maintenance-related workflows.
