HumCap's client is seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Designer/Drafter to join their engineering team. This role will work closely with engineering leadership to create and revise technical drawings using AutoCAD, ensuring designs meet project specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate is organized, technically skilled, and thrives in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Revise existing drawings based on redlines, sketches, photographs, and engineering markups.
  • Create new technical drawings from sketches, photos, and engineering specifications.
  • Prepare and maintain drawings for aviation and military-related engineering projects.
  • Review drawings for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to design standards.
  • Communicate project status and progress updates to engineering leadership.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers and team members to support project objectives.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical school training and a minimum of 2 years of drafting/design experience.
  • Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD and drafting principles.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to interpret and understand engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work successfully in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience supporting aviation-related engineering projects.
  • Experience with edge-lit panel (ELP) design.
  • Familiarity with FAA-certified or military programs.
