Drafting Manager (Solidworks)

70+ year-old (and growing!) industrial equipment engineering & manufacturing company has an opening for a CAD / Drafting Supervisor.

Duties:

Working under the direction of the Engineering Manager, manage the daily activities of the CAD department of 4 Solidworks drafters
Develop/manage department processes – includes CAD modeling (Solidworks), drafting, and other duties needed to create technical documentation
Provide instruction, training, and technical assistance to engineering and drafting personnel
Collaborate with sales/marketing, engineering, manufacturing, and procurement/purchasing to define existing and new products to fulfill the needs of internal and external customers
Oversee staffing, allocate work assignments, manage performance evaluations, and enforce disciplinary matters
Manage BOMs

Requirements:

Associates or Bachelors Degree in a related mechanical discipline
7+ years of post-graduate CAD/drafting experience
2+ years of experience in a Drafting / CAD Manager or Supervisor role
3D modeling experience (Solidworks highly preferred)
Experience working with materials such as sheet metal, weldments, machined components, extrusions, piping, etc.
Working with ERP systems
Interest in being a “working manager”
Ability to pass a drug test
