Draftsman (SolidWorks)

Pay: Up to $35.00 per hour (DOE)
Schedule: Monday-Friday | Day Shift
Job Type: Full-Time

Draftsman – Must-Have Requirements

  • Proficiency with SolidWorks for 3D modeling and 2D drafting
  • Experience with pressure vessels and/or heat exchangers
  • Experience creating fabrication and assembly drawings
  • Knowledge of steel fabrication processes
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Associate's degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred

Draftsman – Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Draftsman with strong SolidWorks skills to join a growing engineering team. This position is responsible for creating detailed fabrication drawings, 3D models, and bills of materials that support manufacturing and production. The ideal candidate has experience in steel fabrication and understands piping systems, pressure vessels, and manufacturing processes while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.

Draftsman – Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Design & Drafting

  • Create detailed 3D models and 2D fabrication drawings using SolidWorks
  • Develop assembly drawings and bills of materials (BOMs) for production
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements
  • Revise existing drawings and models based on engineering changes and customer requirements

Engineering Support

  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers throughout the design process
  • Assist in resolving design and fabrication issues
  • Ensure drawings comply with applicable industry standards and manufacturing requirements
  • Maintain accurate documentation of drawings, revisions, and engineering files

Production Support

  • Support fabrication teams by providing accurate manufacturing documentation
  • Verify drawing accuracy before release to production
  • Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives

Draftsman – Additional Qualifications

  • Previous experience in steel fabrication preferred
  • Knowledge of piping systems and pressure vessel design is highly preferred
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Experience creating detailed manufacturing documentation is a plus
