JOB SUMMARY:
A Drawer Box Assembler builds, rails, and fronts drawer boxes for cabinets.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Use air tools, hand tools, jigs, and other equipment to build drawer boxes, prepare dummy fronts, and install rails/clips onto completed boxes
- Use glue to assemble drawer boxes and hot melt glue to attach rails to boxes
- Ensure quality specifications are met for all aspects of drawer box assembly
- Use a computer system to perform building and fronting of the drawer box
- Accurately interpret production labels
- Maintain a safe work environment, including housekeeping
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to identify cabinet types, wood species, finishes, drawer front types and styles
- Ability to use basic math concepts and read a standard tape measure
Required Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
Required Physical Ability:
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
- Frequent bending, crouching, pulling and pushing
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 20 lbs., occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Working in an indoor environment with excessive hot, humid, and cold temperatures.
- Protective safety gear will be required including safety glasses, and gloves.
- The noise level is usually moderate to high.
- Occasional overtime and weekend work as required.
