JOB SUMMARY A Drawer Box Assembler builds rails and fronts drawer boxes for cabinets.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Use air tools, hand tools, jigs, and other equipment to build drawer boxes, prepare dummy fronts, and install rail clips onto completed boxes.
  • Use glue to assemble drawer boxes and hot melt glue to attach rails to boxes.
  • Ensure quality specifications are met for all aspects of drawer box assembly.
  • Use a computer system to perform building and fronting of the drawer box.
  • Accurately interpret production labels.
  • Maintain a safe work environment including housekeeping.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to identify cabinet types, wood species, finishes, drawer front types, and styles.
  • Ability to use basic math concepts and read a standard tape measure.

Required Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.

Required Physical Ability

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent bending, crouching, pulling, and pushing.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 20 lbs.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Working in an indoor environment with excessive hot, humid, and cold temperatures.
  • Protective safety gear will be required including safety glasses and gloves.
  • The noise level is usually moderate to high.
  • Occasional overtime and weekend work as required.
