Position Summary

The Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery and pickup of food and supplies in support of Bremerton Foodline’s Grocery Rescue, Redistribution, and Groceries on the Go programs. This position ensures accurate routing and proper handling of food products. The Driver plays a vital role in maintaining uninterrupted food distribution to the community and serves as an outward-facing ambassador for the Bremerton Foodline.

Transportation & Deliveries
● Plan and complete efficient daily delivery and pickup routes.
● Competency in driving a 16ft box truck, operating a lift gate, electric pallet jack and loading docks.
● Load and unload delivery vehicles safely and securely.
● Deliver food and supplies to designated locations.
● Pick up food donations, returns, and other requested items along assigned routes.
● Ensure safe handling and transport of food in compliance with food safety standards.

Vehicle Care & Documentation
● Maintain accurate mileage logs and delivery records.
● Complete driver reports and data entry as required.
● Perform basic vehicle checks before and after routes.
● Report mechanical issues or service needs promptly to a supervisor.

Warehouse Support
● Assist with general warehouse duties when delivery routes are completed.
● Support safe loading, unloading, and storage of food and supplies.
● Operate pallet jack and forklift (if certified).
● Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements
● Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
● Demonstrated ability to drive safely in various weather and road conditions.
● Ability to use navigation tools (GPS, smartphone apps, web-based maps).
● Ability to independently plan and manage delivery routes.
● Ability to maintain basic logs and records.
● Ability to work with minimal supervision.
● Professional, courteous, and team-oriented demeanor.
● Food Handler’s Card (required).

Physical Requirements
● Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
● Ability to load and unload packages and pallets using dollies and pallet jacks (electric and manual).
● Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
● Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and lifting.
