Job Summary:
Our upscale casual seafood restaurant is seeking a skilled Prep Cook to join our team. As a Prep Cook, you will be responsible for preparing seafood, vegetables, sauces, and other items from scratch. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a professional kitchen, a passion for food, and a strong commitment to quality. Candidate will ensure consistency and quality of all products. This position is available only at our Commissary kitchen located in Sterling, VA.
Responsibilities:
- Drive truck to varies locations to drop off and pick up items
- Ensure truck safety and cleanliness standards are upheld
- Loading and unloading heavy items
- Wash dishes at the commissary kitchen
- Keep work area clean and organized at all times
- Help with basic prep work like cutting and portioning vegetables
Requirements:
- Must have a valid drivers license and excellent driving recordHigh school diploma or equivalent
- At least 2 years of experience working in a professional kitchenStrong knowledge of seafood preparation and cooking techniques
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Strong communication and teamwork skillsAbility to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
Preferred:
- Experience working in an upscale casual restaurant environmentKnowledge of seafood sustainability practices
