Job Title: Delivery Driver Helper
Location: Grand Junction, CO (2479 Industrial Blvd, Grand Junction, CO 81505)
Job Summary:
Our client, a leading food distribution company, is seeking a Delivery Driver Helper to support daily delivery routes from their Grand Junction, CO facility. This role assists the driver in loading, unloading, and delivering products to customers safely and efficiently. This is a contract position with an estimated duration of approximately 6-7 months (1,080 total hours), with potential for extension based on business need. No overnight travel required.
Schedule: Monday through Saturday; shifts may begin as early as 2:00 AM. Full-time, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the driver in delivering orders to customers in a timely, professional manner
- Load and unload trucks and company vehicles by hand or using hand truck/dolly
- Verify all returning product with appropriate check-in personnel
- Pad, stack, and secure items to prevent damage during transport
- Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with customers and internal departments
- Follow safe work methods to complete deliveries successfully
Required Qualifications:
- Warehouse experience
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
- Ability to count money and keep accurate account of merchandise
- Strong ability to interact professionally with customers
- Ability to lift up to 90 lbs consistently
- Ability to climb in and out of a trailer
- Ability to work in both hot and cold environmental conditions
Preferred Qualifications:
- 0-3 years of relevant experience in delivery, warehouse, or logistics support roles
- Prior experience working alongside delivery drivers or in food distribution
About the Role:
This position supports a leading company in the food distribution industry, working as a helper alongside a delivery driver. The role does not involve driving, only unloading and handling of produce and other goods. Interviews may be conducted by phone and/or in person. Candidates should be prepared for early morning start times and physically demanding work in varying temperature conditions.
