Driver Helper

Our client, in the food distribution industry, is seeking a Driver Helper to join their team. As a Driver Helper, you will be part of the delivery support team supporting drivers in ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. The ideal candidate will demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and a customer-focused attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Driver Helper

Location: Rapid City, SD

Pay Range: $22

Shift: Monday - Friday, 5:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., with OT on Saturdays when required

What's the Job?

• Assist drivers with unloading products from trailers and moving them to customer delivery areas using hand trucks, dollies, or other equipment
• Verify delivery accuracy by checking orders, rotating products, and inspecting product quality
• Provide professional customer service, addressing delivery concerns or escalating issues as needed
• Secure products in the truck to prevent damage during transport
• Follow safety procedures, support pre-trip inspections, and ensure safe delivery practices

What's Needed?

• Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 90 pounds
• Ability to walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and climb in and out of delivery trucks throughout the workday
• Basic math skills for counting inventory and completing delivery documentation accurately
• Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach
• Experience using two-wheel dollies or electric pallet jacks is preferred
