Job Summary

Lingo Staffing is hiring a reliable Driver Helper for a building supply company in Ridgefield, CT. This role will assist delivery drivers with local deliveries of lumber, doors, windows, millwork, and other building materials.

This is a hands-on position for someone dependable, physically capable, and comfortable working outdoors and around construction materials.

Responsibilities

• 
  Assist drivers with loading and unloading delivery trucks
  
• 
  Help deliver lumber, doors, windows, moulding, millwork, and building materials
  
• 
  Safely carry, stage, and place materials at customer locations and job sites
  
• 
  Help verify materials against delivery paperwork
  
• 
  Assist with securing loads before leaving the yard or job site
  
• 
  Maintain a clean and organized truck and work area
  
• 
  Follow safety procedures while lifting, carrying, and moving materials
  
• 
  Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and team members
  
• 
  Assist in the yard or warehouse when not on deliveries
  
• 
  Perform other general labor duties as assigned
  

Qualifications

• 
  Prior warehouse, delivery, construction, lumber yard, or general labor experience preferred
  
• 
  Ability to lift and carry heavy materials throughout the day
  
• 
  Comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions
  
• 
  Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
  
• 
  Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team
  
• 
  Good communication and customer service skills
  
• 
  Forklift experience is a plus, but not required
  
• 
  Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced environment
  

Physical Requirements

• 
  Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry heavy building materials
  
• 
  Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and climb in and out of trucks throughout the shift
  
• 
  Comfortable handling long, bulky, or awkward materials with assistance
  
• 
  Must be able to work indoors and outdoors as needed
