Driver Helper Job Summary

• Drive and park new vehicles per Transportation & Handling Manual guidelines.
• Maintain communication with Team Leader regarding pickup and drop-off locations.
• Inspect vehicles for damage and proper functioning before driving.
• Adhere to all Port traffic policies and speed limits.
• Report unsafe conditions, road hazards, and vehicle issues to management.
• Prepare vehicles for processing stages, including tire pressure and battery checks.
• Remove exterior/interior plastic wrap, drive vehicles through car washes, and fuel vehicles.
• Perform vehicle spotting, scanning, and complete checklists as required.

Driver Helper Minimum Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid Driver’s License with good driving record
• Good depth perception and hand-eye coordination.
• Preferred: 1 year of distribution or warehouse experience, especially in an automotive environment.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Completion of in-house shuttle driving training and test.
• Preferred: Experience with scanners and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Effective interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly during shifts.
• Operate vehicles safely as per company procedures.
• Bend, turn, and use peripherals to operate equipment safely.
• Work in a warehouse environment for up to 8-hour shifts, plus overtime if needed.
• Exposure to outdoor weather and vehicle fumes.
