Position Summary
The Driver is responsible for the pickup and delivery service of parts and supplies for the Customer and Company. The driver will typically spend approximately 15-30 hours per week on the road. During non-driving hours, this individual will support the Shipping Department by assisting with packing and pulling inventory.
What You'll Do
- Deliver and pick up parts and supplies as directed by Manager.
- Perform vehicle inspection daily and advise supervisor of any maintenance or repairs that are needed on vehicle.
- Operate a fork lift.
- Operate scale and weighing mechanisms to determine part count.
- Maintain a good driving record and report all accidents or damages to vehicle immediately to manager.
- Determine special boxing requirements in accordance with customer specifications.
- Ensure that the scales are kept in good condition that ensures an accurate weigh count.
- Ensure that product packaging is done in accordance with the Customer's requirements.
- Responsible for the loading and unloading of vehicles in an orderly and safe manner.
- Confirm shipments with paperwork. Sign and return paperwork to the office.
- Move unloaded product out of Shipping Department to appropriate places (i.e. finished goods to outgoing shipment area or finished goods inventory).
- Responsible for making sure that incoming goods are weighed and placed in work in progress (WIP) area or sent to the Quality Assurance Department.
- Assist with the physical inventory of safety stock and finished goods.
What We're Looking For
- Graduation from high school or receipt of equivalent degree (GED).
- Class C drivers license
- Minimum of 1 year of driving experience
