Job Purpose:
- The Driver II is responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation services. This role is crucial in ensuring that individuals receive timely access to the center's services, thereby supporting the overall mission of enhancing the well-being of the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Must provide safe and reliable transportation to consumers for assigned routes
- Must provide and demonstrate excellent defensive driving skills to maintain focus on the safety of passengers
- Familiarity of FTA and DOT regulations
- Must assist with passenger loading and unloading from vehicle when necessary
- Ensure on-time pick-up and drop off consumers
- Maintain open lines of communication with supervisory personnel
- The ability to comply with the regulations requiring a workplace of dignity and respect and equal employment opportunity compliance
- Perform additional duties as assigned or required
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Required Experience:
- Experience in transporting individuals in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Minimum of 5-years driving experience
- Must be Over the age of 21
- Possess a continuously valid US Driver's license for the past three years, from date of issue
- Must Have a class C License with Passenger Endorsement (CDL)
- Safe driving record
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong knowledge of local and regional roadways and traffic laws.
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients and staff.
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.
