Drivers/Material Handlers on
2nd shift (3: 30pm-12am) and
3rd shift (12am-7: 30am) to support their manufacturing and distribution operations in Solon, Ohio.
This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy a variety of responsibilities, including driving, material movement, shipping, receiving, and warehouse support. No prior commercial driving experience is required. Our client provides training for motivated candidates who possess a valid driver's license and a strong work ethic.
Position Summary
The Driver/Material Handler is responsible for transporting raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished products between facilities and distribution locations within Solon. This role also assists with loading, unloading, inventory movement, and ensuring products are delivered safely, accurately, and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles to transport materials and finished goods between local facilities
- Load, unload, and secure products for transport
- Move raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished products as needed throughout operations
- Verify shipment accuracy and complete required paperwork and documentation
- Assist with shipping, receiving, and inventory activities
- Inspect vehicles before and after use and report maintenance concerns
- Follow all company safety procedures, traffic laws, and food safety standards
- Support production and warehouse teams as needed to maintain efficient operations
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, vehicles, and storage locations
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding delivery schedules and material needs
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required
- Ability to safely operate company vehicles and equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Basic math and recordkeeping skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Positive attitude and willingness to work in a team environment
- Previous driving, warehouse, shipping, receiving, or manufacturing experience is helpful but not required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to frequently lift, move, and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
- Ability to work in warehouse, manufacturing, and outdoor environments as needed
- Ability to safely load and unload materials repeatedly during the workday
