About the Role:

The Driver position is critical to ensuring the safe and timely transportation of goods within and beyond the Myerstown area. This role involves operating various commercial vehicles, including dump trucks and box trucks, to deliver materials efficiently while adhering to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing routes, maintaining vehicle condition, and ensuring compliance with safety standards to support overall transportation management objectives. This position requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to read and interpret maps and delivery instructions accurately. Ultimately, the Driver will contribute to the seamless flow of goods, supporting warehousing operations and customer satisfaction through reliable and responsible driving practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A.
• Proven experience in truck driving, specifically with dump trucks and box trucks.
• Thorough knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret maps and GPS navigation systems.
• Strong understanding of warehousing operations and transportation management principles.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with transportation management software and electronic logging devices (ELDs).
• Familiarity with local and regional routes in and around Myerstown, PA.
• Additional endorsements on CDL such as hazardous materials or tanker endorsements.
• Previous experience in a logistics or supply chain environment.
• Demonstrated ability to perform minor vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

• Operate commercial vehicles such as dump trucks and box trucks safely and efficiently to transport goods to designated locations.
• Comply with all DOT regulations and company policies to ensure safety and legal operation of vehicles.
• Plan and follow the most efficient routes using maps and GPS technology to meet delivery schedules.
• Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure proper maintenance and report any mechanical issues promptly.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials as needed, coordinating with warehouse staff to ensure accurate inventory handling.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle inspections, and delivery records in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse personnel, and customers to provide updates and resolve any delivery issues.
