Position Summary: Serves as Together’s primary source of transportation for food pick-ups and other donations, ensuring food is kept at the appropriate temperature and care. Essential Job Functions: - Pick up product donations in a timely manner from various vendors.
- Weigh and log in incoming donations.
- Ensure timely delivery of food products to both the Omaha and Council Bluffs pantries.
- Help maintain organization of food products in storage area.
- Maintain a good working relationship with vendors.
- Follow safety and food handling guidelines.
- Safely operate truck, following all requirements set rules set by Together and FMCSA and DOT.
- Responsible for the cardboard drop-offs and diaper bank runs.
- Keep truck clean and report any maintenance needs or concerns.
- Provide support to Choice Pantry operations as needed and as time allows.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Ability to drive a truck.
- Excellent driving record.
- Ability to lift and transport donations in a safe manner.
- General knowledge of Omaha and its surrounding vicinity.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Ability to operate a forklift and electric pallet walker.
Education and Experience: - Valid driver’s license.
- 1 year experience of driving a straight truck or equivalent mode of transportation.
- Over 19 years of age.
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT medical card) as required by applicable federal and state regulations
Physical Requirements: - Hearing and vision must be correctable to within normal ranges.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
