DROP OFF CHEF FOR FAMILY OF THREE
*Family of two adults and one sixteen year old is searching for a chef to prepare and deliver meals one day a week, ideally on Mondays, to the family’s home in Portola Valley, CA.
*Weekly menus will consist of three dinners, two to three lunch items, and healthy snacks to be stocked in the family refrigerator. Some meals may be repeated for a second night from time to time.
*Shopping for specialty items and some household kitchen items may be requested.
*Chef will have a blend of versatile restaurant and private service experience, seamlessly being able to integrate themselves into the family’s home environment
*The family would love a chef who offers a wide variety of dishes to ensure meals feel fresh and different each week. The chef will also maintain a curated list of family favorites and keep detailed notes on preferences, likes, and dislikes—allowing them to seamlessly introduce new and exciting meals while revisiting beloved dishes and adapting to any dietary changes over time.
*The chef may be asked to assist with occasional dinner parties or family gatherings
*Creation of a menu 3-5 days before the start of the work week, sent to the family, accept feedback, and make necessary changes based on dietary and personal preferences within reason and with ample notice.
Food Preferences/Allergies/Aversions:
*Dinners will be healthy, well balanced meals varying in cuisines and flavors. Lunch examples are salads or power bowls- complete with lean proteins, vegetables, and low carbohydrates. Small bite, easy desserts may be requested on occasion. Snack ideas may include plenty of fresh cut fruit, vegetables, healthy dips, protein power balls and other healthy homemade snack items
*The family enjoys eating a healthy, clean diet without processed foods
*The Chef may be asked to prepare simple breakfast items from time to time. Examples are; overnight oats, low fat egg bites, frittatas, or healthy breakfast muffins
*Organic fruits and vegetables are preferred when quality allows and all meats/fish/poultry/other proteins will be of the highest quality.
*One adult has a severe shellfish allergy
*One adult has a slightly more simple palate - spicy and aggressively prepared foods will be made with some sauces, hot condiments etc . on the side
*The family enjoys many types of cuisines: Californian, Mediterranean, SE Asian, and Middle Eastern foods are some examples. Chef will be adept at creating meals with creative flavors and from different global cuisines
Logistics:
*Chef will openly communicate with the family on an ongoing basis, about dietary preferences and adjust menus as preferences or personal health goals change
*Approximate hours are ten hours a week. This includes menu formulation, shopping, food prep, cooking, cleanup and one way delivery time. Both client and chef understand that hours may vary from week to week based on menus and special requests.
*Chef will bill and be paid directly by Client, on a bi-weekly basis. Invoices to be provided by the Chef. Terms for payment - due upon receipt
*Chef will be acting as an independent contractor is neither an employee of the family or SPK Staffing
*Clients will be able to pause chef services to accommodate business or family travel. Chef will give ample notice for any weeks they are not able to provide meals for travel etc
Requirements:
*Reliable transportation
*Consent to sign NDA
*Consent to comprehensive background check (prior to a cooking trial) give consent to a full background check prior to a cooking trial
*Provide Legal Work Authorization (I-9)
*Provide Professional References
