Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of addiction counseling, treatment planning, and recovery strategies
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build trust and rapport
- Ability to work compassionately with diverse populations
- Knowledge of addiction-related mental health issues and appropriate interventions
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and other regulatory standards
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, particularly AVATAR
- Bilingual abilities or multilingual skills
- Prior experience in a similar clinical or community setting
- Crisis intervention skills and crisis management experience
Preferred Education and Experience:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
- Previous experience in addiction counseling or a related healthcare role
- Certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) is advantageous
Other Requirements:
- Valid Pennsylvania state license or certification as required
- Willingness to work some flexible hours, including evenings or weekends if necessary
- Ability to travel within the state as needed for client appointments or meetings
