Job SummaryPerforms all phases of drywall finishing on commercial construction projects, including taping, mudding, sanding, and texturing to a smooth, paint-ready surface. Works from blueprints and field direction to meet specified finish levels, schedule, and quality standards.
Responsibilities • Apply joint compound and tape to drywall seams, corners, and fastener heads using hand tools and/or automatic taping tools (bazooka, flat boxes, angle heads)
• Install corner bead, control joints, and trim accessories
• Build out coats — tape, fill, and finish — allowing proper dry time between applications
• Sand and point-up to achieve specified finish levels (Level 3, 4, or 5 per ASTM C840 / GA-214)
• Skim coat and match existing textures for patch and repair work
• Identify and correct framing or hanging defects that affect finish quality
• Set up, move, and work safely from stilts, baker scaffold, and lifts
• Protect adjacent surfaces; maintain a clean, debris-free work area daily
• Estimate and track material usage; communicate needs to the foreman
• Follow all OSHA, jobsite, and company safety requirements, including required PPE and respiratory protection during sanding
Qualifications- Previous experience in the construction field desired
