Description

DSHS DDA Social and Health Program Consultant 4

Make a meaningful impact on services available to Washington's intellectual and developmental disability community!

DSHS's Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) is hiring multiple permanent team members to serve as dedicated consultants ensuring people we serve have access to high-quality, reliable services close to home. Your experience, knowledge and skills make a difference.

DDA Resource Development Provider Consultants (RDPC) play a critical role in shaping the statewide and regional service landscape-driving provider recruitment and training, supporting contract implementation, analyzing service trends and equity gaps, and advising leadership on emerging needs. Your work will help ensure access to services our clients need to thrive in their communities.

Reporting to the Provider Network Capacity Manager, this position is responsible to conduct regional provider outreach, engagement, and recruitment activities to support expansion of the DDA provider network and serve as a field-based representative, working directly with providers and community partners to increase awareness, participation and equitable access to DDA services and supports. You will identify local provider gaps and support recruitment efforts in rural, tribal and underserved communities.

RDPCs focus on defining and implementing process improvements to better recruit, onboard, develop and retain providers serving DDA clients across the state. They build on the work of the current Provider Recruitment, Onboarding, and Retention Initiative, which is led by DDCS in partnership with the Governor's Your Washington team.

Please note: This position currently has approval to work a flexible/hybrid schedule, as business needs allow. Therefore, the successful applicant could predominantly telework, or if preferred, office space may be issued. Occasional statewide travel may be required based on business needs.

This position can be located within counties in Region 1 or Region 3. Please indicate your location in the supplemental questions.

Some of What Youll Do

  • Contribute to statewide recruitment efforts for 20+ services and facilitate their contracting, onboarding, training, and monitoring efforts.
  • Conduct regional service analyses to identify gaps in the provider network and work with your team and regional staff to develop targeted strategies to address them.
  • Conduct direct outreach to existing and potential DDA service providers within assigned regions.
  • Represent DDA at local provider meetings, community events, and regional forums to promote program awareness and provider opportunities.
  • Design and maintain resource development tools and reporting mechanisms to capture outreach and recruitment activities, and engagement outcomes to help identify successes and areas of growth early.
  • Facilitate resolutions and troubleshoot issues between DDA field staff and providers regarding service delivery.
  • Apply equity, diversity, accessibility, and inclusion (EDAI) principles across all work.
  • Participate in team meetings and partner with other Regional and HQ-based RDPCs and contribute field insights to inform resource development program and process improvements.
  • Conduct occasional statewide and regional travel, including to rural communities to perform provider recruitment and technical assistance activities, as needed.
