Job Overview
The Dual Director of Sales & Marketing will lead sales and marketing strategy for The Ann Savannah and an additional Savannah-area property to be announced soon. This role is responsible for driving revenue, developing new accounts, growing existing relationships, and positioning each hotel for success within its market.
Working closely with property leadership and ownership, the Dual DOSM will create and execute sales and marketing plans that support revenue, profitability, and a thoughtful guest experience. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role for someone who can balance big-picture strategy with active, relationship-driven selling.
Responsibilities
Achieves a minimum of 90% of productivity goals and 100% of activity goals, asestablishedby management.
Leads direct reports in a manner that achieves thepropertiessales goals and holds them accountable to their essential duties and responsibilities.
Direct Sales: Targets appointment-oriented sales calls to ensure a successful direct sales program,in accordance withgoalsestablishedby department budget and marketing plan. Must haveownreliable transportation andpossesa valid state driver's licensein order tomake sales calls.
Key Account Management: Maximizes current hotel key accounts byidentifyingand capturing those that offer revenue growth.
New Account Development: Captures competitor's accounts through networking,researchand reader board surveysin order totarget andsolicitthose most probable to generate new business.
Plans and implements an on-going Targeted Account Development "hit list"in order tocreate new revenue andacquirevaluable hotel contacts, and contracts.
Plan and implement ecommerce and internet marketing strategies.
Promote the story of the brand and the hotel in the market, with the goal of increasing overall profitability of the property.
Adjust the sales plan according to changes in business and marketing trends, aggressively pursue the market mix and type of group and transient business that will best achieve the success of the hotel and support the selling philosophy, meet or exceed the budgeted goals in sales, profit and occupancy for the total hotel operation.
Maintain a current working knowledge of the competition,demonstratea working knowledge of all hoteloperation, and maintain an awareness and application of currentstate of the artsales techniques and practices.
Continually targets and prospects for newbusinessthrough telemarketing, individualcreativityand innovation.
Yield Management:Utilizesyield management techniques by profitably negotiating room rates and function space commitmentsin order toenhance the hotel's financial performance.
Account Service and Management:Maintainswell-documented,accurate,organizedand up-to-date file management systemin order toserviceclientandemployerin the most expedient,organizedand knowledgeable manner.
Develops strong customer relations through frequent communication and the use of professional,courteousand ethical interpersonal interaction.
Develops customer profiles andmaintainsan effective trace system, including trace dates and references,in order tobest meet client needs, resulting in superior account service and increased revenues.
Promptlyfollows-upon all customer needs and inquiries in an efficient and expedient manner.
Product Knowledge: Conducts research, surveys, personalinvestigationand studiesmarket placeand territoryin order toeffectively capitalize on the hotel's strengths and competitor's weaknesses and capabilities.
Time Management: Focuses on revenue-producing activity and maximizes selling time by dedicating aminimum90% work time on direct sales efforts.
Professionalism: Controls expenses including travel on the property's behalfin order tominimize hotel costs.

Requires knowledge of general sales techniques, yield management, and customer service skills.
