1.0 FTE Due Process Coordinator Teacher on Special Assignment

District-wide

189 contract days plus 10 additional days extended time

Salary and benefits based on Teacher Contract

Purpose: This position provides district coordination and support in the area of due process for center-based and resource level Special Education programs and staff, including the implementation of Sped Forms.

Position Responsibilities:

• Provide recommendation and direction in special education evaluation process.
• Facilitate continuous program development and improvement for special education services in the area of due process.
• Mentor, model, and coach teachers.
• Train teachers on content, programs, and organizational structures in due process.
• Oversee the implementation of Sped Forms by collaborating with the Technology Department to transition the district's special education documentation system from Infinite Campus to Sped Forms.
• Developing and managing a comprehensive implementation timeline, creating and delivering a professional development plan for special education staff, providing ongoing implementation support
• Collaborating with Sped Forms and RAS Technology representatives to troubleshoot technical issues
• Monitoring project milestones to ensure a successful and timely rollout.
• Participate as member of District Special Education Leadership Team.
• Attend regional and state meetings and trainings.
• Participate in the development and implementation of District's TSES
• Collaborate with other district personnel to address the issue of cultural and socioeconomic impact on special education programming.
• Advise Special Education Leadership of staff development needs. Plan and provide staff development activities.
• Assist with the collection of data to identify program, staff, and facility needs.
• Assist with facilitation of special education department meetings.
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education

Reports to:

• Director of Student Services

Training and Experience Requirements:

• Current MN special education teaching license
• Minimum three years of experience as a special education teacher
• Knowledge of special education due process
• Experience providing large and small group professional learning
• Special education director license preferred
• Leadership experience preferred
