DOT Driver
The DOT driver is a commercial drivers license (CDL) holder who operates a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) for a for-hire carrier or private carrier.
Key Responsibilities:
• Transport goods or passengers across state or international lines • Ensure compliance with federal regulations and company policies • Maintain accurate records of hours of service, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle • Load and unload cargo safely and efficiently
Requirements:
• Possess a valid CDL with the appropriate endorsements • Meet the physical and medical requirements for a CDL • Have a good driving record and a clean background check • Complete a training program approved by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) • Pass a skills test administered by the states CDL testing authority
