The Executive Housekeeper will assist in the supervision of the housekeeping team members and various areas located in the Dutch Wonderland Inn. This position directly supports the Housekeeping Director of Lodging by ensuring efficient operation of the department which provides a positive guest experience.

Roles & Responsibilities:

 

    Roles and Responsibilities: 

     

    Supervisory Duties: 

    • Supervise the daily operations of the Housekeeping team and any other assigned departments 

    • Lead by example, attitude, and as a representation of Dutch Wonderland's core values 

    • Act as an approachable mentor and coach to all assigned team members 

    • Ensure compliance with company and industry best practices, policies, and procedures to create a safe and productive environment for colleagues and guests 

    • Become knowledgeable of performing the essential duties of all assigned housekeepingpositions and backfill these positions when needed 

    • Participate in all aspects of supervision of assigned employees, including hiring,orientation, training, performance coaching, and discipline 

    • Ensure that all required meal and other breaks are being given in accordance with PA law 

    • Assist with team scheduling and timekeeping activities 

     

    Departmental Duties: 

    • Complete all daily tasks within the given timeframe based off the minutes per room average, which will be determined by the number of rooms to be cleaned each day 

    • Provide exceptional guest service by treating all guests with courtesy and a smile 

    • Respond to all guest requests by delivering any requested items in a timely manner 

    • Ensure that all guestrooms are properly prepared for next guest arrivals, including (but not limited to) the following: 

    • Guestrooms and bathrooms are properly cleaned and disinfected 

    • Bathroom and bed linens are replaced as dictated by brand standards 

    • All beds are made as dictated by brand standards 

    • All trash is removed and the room vacuumed 

    • The bathroom is cleaned to brand standards, including tile, tub, walls, sink, and floor 

    • All contents are removed from refrigerators 

    • All tables and surfaces are wiped down and dust-free 

    • All sofa beds are restored 

    • All supplies are replaced or added 

    • Stock carts with necessary linens and supplies; ensure that carts are organized as dictated by standards 

    • Report room status and maintenance problems accurately and in a timely manner 

    • Maintains cart and bumpers to avoid damage to walls and doors 

    • Properly handle, label, stock and store chemicals and cleaning supplies 

    • Protect guest belongings; turn in lost and found items immediately 

    • Complete special projects as directed by manager 

    • All other dutiesassigned by leadership 

     

    Education and Experience: 

    • No education requirements for this position 

    • Minimum of 6 months of housekeeping experience is required. 

    • Minimum of 6 months of previous supervisory experience would be a plus 

     

    Language: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus. 

    Requirements:   

    • Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with PA Child Labor Laws 

    • Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays 

    • Must have reliable transportation to and from your scheduled shift 

    • Ability to comply with all uniform policies 

    • Must possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner 

    • Must possess a strong attention to detail, to quickly notice objects and areas around the property that require attention 

    • Ability to follow direction, multi-task, and work as part of a team as well as independently 

     

    Physical Requirements: 

    • Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for majority of the workday 

    • Ability to frequently stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders 

    • Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 50 pounds or more 

    • Ability to withstand heat and humidity in certain areas of the hotel 

    • Ability to consistently use hands to grasp, control, move objects/tools 

    • Ability to tolerate prolonged exposure to dust, dirt, and cleaning chemicals 

     

    Working Conditions: 

    • This role will predominantly be based in an indoor lodging setting, with some exposure to outdoor environments 

    • Some exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditions 

    • Subject to the handling of and exposure to oils, chemicals, detergents, and cleaners  

    • Subject to frequent interruptions and may need to reprioritize activities 

    • Subject to constant repetitive motion 

    • Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens; proper PPE is required in these situations
