The Dye Range Operator tends to a continuous production range that will dye, finish or heat set narrow fabric textile webbing. Operator will need to follow dye formulas to meet customers’ specifications.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare dye machine for production runs.
- Calculate weights or proportions of acid dyes and auxiliary chemicals required to make textile dye mixes.
- Clean equipment and maintain a neat work area.
- Successfully dye fabric/webbing to meet requirements.
- Dye narrow fabric.
- Examine product or work to verify conformance to specifications.
- Maintain consistent product quality.
- Record production information; yards processed, temperatures, tensions and machine speed.
- Monitor dye range production machinery operation and performance.
- Operate a sewing machine.
- Follow safety guidelines.
- Keep accurate records of all greige goods (purchased and woven) and waste discharge.
- Support the Quality Policy and Quality Objectives.
- Identify and communicate any opportunities for Dye Range improvements.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 years' experience operating a continuous acid dye range preferred.
- Experience dying or coloring narrow or wide good fabrics or like materials.
- Must be proficient in math and able to calculate weights and percentages.
- The ability to distinguish colors and shades.
- Housekeeping and Organization are important requirements of this position.
- Good communication skills.
- Must be able to read and write English, bilingual preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
