Job Description:

The E&C Engineer II executes capital engineering and construction projects from initiation through planning, engineering design, construction, and final closeout. This role supports power generation infrastructure across eastern Colorado, including the Fort Morgan gas generation facility, the Pueblo coal-fired generation facility, and various regional renewable wind and hydro assets. The successful candidate ensures all assigned projects are delivered within approved scope, schedule, and budget limits, while collaborating across a cross-functional department of approximately 27 project managers and engineers.

This position operates on a standard 40-hour work week under a hybrid professional model requiring onsite presence at the T3 Denver office from Tuesday through Thursday. The role requires a valid driver’s license, reliable personal transportation, and the flexibility to commute to regional facilities in Fort Morgan, Pueblo, and renewable sites, with early start times driven by facility operational schedules. Field execution accounts for approximately 5% of the workload, involving site walkdowns and safety verifications. Personal protective equipment is provided, alongside a one-time reimbursement of up to $75 for required safety footwear, and standard business mileage is reimbursed according to corporate policy.

Must Have Qualifications:

Technical proficiency in standard engineering and enterprise systems is critical for success in this role. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and Power BI, with preferred operational experience in SAP and Maximo or similar enterprise work management systems. The role demands advanced skills in project scheduling, cost engineering, and technical problem-solving. Essential qualitative attributes include precise verbal and written communication, structured prioritization capabilities, and a commitment to continuous professional development.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES :

The incumbent manages the day-to-day lifecycle of utility infrastructure projects, ensuring seamless coordination between internal business units and external partners. Daily operational activities include participating in facility Plan of the Day (POD) meetings, updating project tracking documentation, sourcing technical contractors, and managing contractor performance against contractual milestones. The engineer maintains rigorous operational oversight by managing project spending forecasts, identifying resource requirements, and enforcing company and OSHA safety regulations, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols during field operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution, with preference given to degrees in Mechanical, Civil, Environmental, or Electrical Engineering. Candidates should possess five to seven years of progressive engineering and project execution experience, though a minimum of three years of experience will be evaluated if directly related to utility-scale power generation. A professional background in utilities, oil and gas refining, heavy manufacturing, or equivalent large-scale industrial environments is highly desired. Professional credentials, such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Six Sigma Lean certifications, are preferred.
