Job Summary

This civil engineering position includes overseeing and contributing to large-scale wind projects. As a project engineer, this person will be responsible for providing civil expertise, with a focus on evaluating project drawings and handling requests for information (RFIs) across multiple projects. The project overview includes large projects near Earth, TX two large wind facilities which have started design. This resource should have 2 3 years of renewable generation project experience and should be willing and able to travel to the site.

A typical day for this civil engineering position will vary based on the project activities. Submittals and RFIs will focus on collaborating with other engineers and project stakeholders to ensure all requirements are clearly outlined. Typical submittal activities include evaluating drawings, studies, and analyses. These activities will involve reviewing the technical documentation to confirm that everything aligns with the project specifications and requirements. Variances to the company's master specifications will need to be communicated internally for approvals by the engineer. For construction activities, the day will be more in-person, assisting team members by addressing any civil engineering-related questions they may have about the project. This could include clarifying details about the design or construction process and troubleshooting any issues that arise on-site. The overall responsibilities will vary from planning/reviewing to providing direct support during the construction.

This resource should have knowledge of how to resolve RFIs and non-conformance requests. This resource will work with other engineers on the project to understand and interpret design drawings, manage the compliance of the construction to the design drawings, and manage RFI requests.

The engineer will be supporting a multifunctional group that includes various internal business units and external stakeholders. This position will primarily collaborate with facility operations and other internal departments, such as Siting and Land Rights (to coordinate on land-use matters, especially for projects involving land development such as wind installations), and Environmental Teams (due to the nature of moving earth and other environmental impacts, collaboration will be necessary to ensure regulatory compliance). Key internal stakeholders include facility operations, siting and land rights, environmental teams, supply chain, and other project engineers. External entities include County and State Agencies (assisting with obtaining local and state permits for large construction projects) and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).

This resource will also work with EPC contractors in addition to a project-specific team consisting of project manager and engineers, construction field team, construction managers, and construction/civil inspectors. This resource will also be working with the project controls cost/scheduling staff.

This resource will be working with external equipment suppliers and contractors who have direct contractual agreements with the client. There is a high likelihood to extend this engagement, and for top performers the client would look at conversion to a full-time employee if they are interested.

With the level of experience expected (9 years), this resource is anticipated to be up to speed within a few weeks. Overtime is available to support construction but is not mandated.
