We are looking for applicants for the E&I Mechanic - Entry Level position in our Jackson, AL Mill.

Responsibilities • Ensuring proper operation of all electrical control system components, including electronic components, motors, solenoids, limit switches, programmable logic control (PLC) IO modules, and photo-eye sensors. • Troubleshooting, problem-solving, and resolving issues at machine centers and throughout the production facility. • Performing high-level electrical audits and adjustments per original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications. • Working as a team with supervisors, maintenance team members, and operations to plan, procure, and document activities for the enhancement of electrical and instrumentation maintenance within the facility. • Mentoring and sharing knowledge with other technicians on maintenance and troubleshooting of PLCs, instrumentation, and controls. • Performing preventative and predictive maintenance to ensure quality and production goals are met. • Applying all applicable codes, regulations, reliability strategies, corporate, and OEM standards. • Working with the maintenance team to improve operations, productivity, and quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labor, parts, material, tools, and equipment access. • Reviewing, developing, and/or modifying work orders for all plant equipment. • Contacting vendors and manufacturers as needed for support in resolving issues. • Assisting in the development and implementation of reliability-centered maintenance strategies.

Basic Qualifications • High School diploma or GED. • Two-year degree in Industrial Electricity & Instrumentation. • Strong commitment to safety required.

Tests and Board Interview Those selected to go through the PCA hiring process will be asked to take a series of five written tests and participate in a structured board interview.

The five written tests are all timed and involve:

• Basic mechanical principles • Basic arithmetic skills • The ability to visualize three-dimensional figures • The ability to compare numbers or patterns quickly and accurately • Basic verbal ability

The interview will be conducted by a four-person board and involves a review of each candidates:

• Work history • Achievements and accomplishments • Knowledge and skill acquisition • Interpersonal skills and helpfulness • Task-related likes and dislikes • Physical demands experienced on previous jobs

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Starting salary for the position: $34.21 per hour.

Paid Vacation: Pro-rata Vacation during the initial year of hire based upon start date within the calendar year.

Paid Holidays: With the first 30 days of employment, an employee and their dependents are eligible to enroll in certain benefit coverages - medical, dental, and vision - and are automatically enrolled in life AD&D and disability coverages.

Upon hire, an employee is automatically enrolled in the 401k plan. The plan offers both pre-tax and Roth contribution options along with employer-provided matching contributions.
