Join Our Team as an E&I Maintenance Technician III

At International Paper’s Binghamton Container facility in Conklin, NY, you’ll be the go-to expert keeping our instrumentation and electrical systems production-ready.

Role Details

  • Pay: $34.03/hour
  • Employment Type: Hourly, Full-Time
  • Shifts: Train on 1st shift; move to 3rd shift

What You’ll Do

  • Instrumentation
    • Troubleshoot, configure, and maintain PLC systems and single-loop controls
    • Install, calibrate, and troubleshoot analog and SMART instruments and analytical equipment
    • Repair final control elements: pneumatic/electric valves, solenoids; calibrate pneumatic and SMART valve positioners
    • Perform routine/regulatory calibration for boilers and environmental systems
    • Maintain pneumatic and hydraulic systems
    • Read/redline loop sheets and P&IDs; interpret electrical schematics
  • Electrical
    • Troubleshoot, install, and repair AC/DC drive systems and stand-alone process drives
    • Install/maintain switches and sensors (mechanical limit, proximity, photoelectric, speed, reflective)
    • Repair and conduct PM on 480V–13.8kV power distribution switchgear
    • Adhere to NFPA70E arc flash and shock hazard requirements
  • Always: Follow NFPA70E and site safety procedures; perform other assigned tasks supporting safe, reliable operations

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 18+ years of age
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience
  • Eligible for employment in the US
  • 3+ years of instrumentation and electrical experience
  • Comfort working in industrial conditions (heat, dust, chemicals, noise, heavy machinery, heights, confined spaces—training/PPE provided)
  • Completion of technical online testing, interview, and hands-on skills assessment
  • Ability to work any/rotating shifts, frequent overtime (short notice), weekends, and holidays
  • Consistent use of required PPE

Preferred

  • Associate degree and/or certifications in Industrial Maintenance or related E&I disciplines
  • 5+ years of instrumentation and electrical experience
  • Industrial manufacturing background
