Job Summary

Join the forefront of innovation and sustainable transit solutions in the dynamic transportation industry. This position offers the opportunity to work for an international transit manufacturer and parts distributor in Indianapolis, IN, a city known for its vibrant culture, diverse community, and thriving economy. The role involves providing electrical expertise on high voltage electric transit buses.

Responsibilities

  • Work with advanced electric vehicle and hydrogen fuel cell technology; troubleshoot electronic, electrical (some mechanical), and high voltage issues, and resolve them.
  • Install electrical systems and components in transit vehicles.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electronic equipment.
  • Repair or replace parts, light fixtures, wiring, relays, motors, and other types of electrical equipment.
  • Identify and troubleshoot electrical problems using various testing devices, including ammeters, voltmeters, multimeters, and cable testers.
  • Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers.

Qualifications

  • Able to travel up to 75% of the time (2-3 weeks at a time).
  • 3 years of experience in electrical, HVAC, or a related field.
  • Thorough knowledge of 12V, 24V, and 600V systems, as well as air conditioning systems.
  • Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of multi-plex systems.
  • Ability to work from blueprints, process sheets, schematics, and instructions as required.
  • Electrical troubleshooting skills and experience.
  • Experience with electrical wiring, circuit testing, troubleshooting, and general repair.
  • Solid customer service skills.
  • PLC and ladder logic experience preferred.
  • High voltage experience and hydrogen training or certification preferred.
  • General knowledge of transit bus/hybrid and/or electric drive systems is ideal but not necessary.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, tools, laptop, and smartphone.
