We are currently partnered with a growing, entrepreneurial MGA looking to add an E&S Property Underwriter to their team in Texas. This is a strong opportunity to join a nimble platform with established carrier relationships, a collaborative underwriting environment, and a clear path for growth.
This role will focus on underwriting complex non-admitted property risks, with an emphasis on production, broker relationship management, and portfolio profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Underwrite and price E&S property risks, including CAT-exposed business (wind, hail, wildfire, etc.)
Handle new business submissions, renewals, and endorsements across a variety of property classes
Build and maintain strong relationships with wholesale brokers and distribution partners
Evaluate risk characteristics, exposures, and coverage structures to make sound underwriting decisions
Manage a profitable book of business with a focus on growth and retention
Collaborate with internal teams (actuarial, claims, leadership) on underwriting strategy and appetite
Stay up to date on market conditions, pricing trends, and competitor activity
Qualifications
2+ years of commercial property underwriting experience, ideally within the E&S market
