Position OverviewSubstitute Educational Assistants provide academic and behavioral support to students in a classroom setting. Assignments may vary based on student needs and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).Responsibilities may include:- Assisting students with lesson comprehension and classroom activities
- Providing one-on-one or small group support
- Reinforcing instruction and re-teaching concepts as directed
- Supporting students who require close supervision or special assistance
- Promoting positive behavior and helping maintain a productive learning environment
- Working under the supervision of a licensed professional (such as a Special Education Teacher)
QualificationsCandidates must meet one of the following requirements:
- Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree (or higher), OR
- Successful completion of an approved paraprofessional assessment
Additional qualifications:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and students
- Commitment to supporting students of all abilities
Compensation- Starting pay: $15.20 – $22.00+ per hour
- Pay is based on education and relevant experience
