Early Career Mechanical Engineer – Riverside, CABe involved in projects with our Property & Buildings Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges.Your ImpactProvide entry‑level technical assistance in the design and development of mechanical systems for building and infrastructure projects.Assist with HVAC system design including air distribution, hydronic systems, and temperature controls.Support the preparation of construction documents, specifications, and technical reports.Collect, compile, and analyze engineering data from drawings, schematics, and field observations to support project development.Assist in conducting research and site inspections to evaluate existing conditions and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.Perform routine engineering calculations (e.g., load calculations) under supervision.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including electrical, structural, and architectural professionals.Ensure work is delivered in alignment with WSP quality, safety, and performance standards.Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.0–1 years of relevant internship or professional experience.Basic knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and building systems (HVAC, controls, plumbing).Familiarity with engineering design tools such as AutoCAD or Revit.Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.Preferred QualificationsInternship or co‑op experience in consulting engineering or building design.Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain.Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (ASHRAE, IECC, local building codes).Interest in markets such as healthcare, commercial, higher education, or science & technology.BenefitsWSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on health and financial stability throughout the employee's career.
