    School Nurse for Early Childhood Education/Child Care Center(Brighton)

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Handling all medical needs of a licensed child care center
    • Medical record keeping
    • Classroom coverage and support

    Environment: We are looking for a full time school nurse to work in a well-established child care center with over 50 years of operation.

    Requirements: LPNWe are seeking a full time nurse who loves young children, has knowledge of childhood wellness, illness and immunizations, and familiarity with the daily operations of a full day care facility and the OCFS regulations pertaining to child care centers.A flexible, professional team player with a positive work ethic, excellent communication skills, and willingness to support teachers, children and classroom in a non-nursing capacity.

    Job Responsibilities Continued:

    • Caring for ill and injured children
    • Caring for children the center's Special Health Care Unit until parents pick up when necessary due to center's exclusion policies
    • Tracking center illnesses, immunizations, and injuries
    • Administering appropriate first aid 
    • Record keeping on all allergies and emergency medical plans
    • Updating classroom information on allergy, emergency medical plan protocol
    • Dispensing medication as requested by parent and completing necessary documentation required by OCFS
    • Working closely with parents on the illness exclusion and return to center protocol.
    • Working closely with staff
    • Classroom coverage on a regular basis as needed to maintain compliance with OCFS regulations
    • The nurse is also responsible for following and maintaining New York State's child care licensing regulations regarding health and safety within the center

    Pay: To be determined. Employee will receive paid personal days, vacations days, and benefits.
