Requirements / Qualifications

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: The Early Childhood Education Facilitator will facilitate multiple early childhood education classrooms under direction of the Early Childhood Education Administrator. Program planning and coordination, personnel, assess and support program staff, interpretation an of federal and state regulations and policies to center staffs, facility management and other directly related activities including classroom management/coverage/support on an as needed basis. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • Graduation from high school or equivalent (GED). • Graduation from a four year accredited or recognized college or university with a major in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or a related field is required. • Child Development Program Director Permit. • Equivalent to (3) three years of increasingly responsible and complex work experience in supervising early childhood care and educational programs is required. Master of Arts or Science in Early Childhood Education or related field is desirable. • Three (3) years of teaching experience in a classroom for Early Childhood Education. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: 1) Official Child Development Program Director Permit. Such permits are initially required prior to employment and once employed employees are responsible for maintaining up-to-date permits. 2) A valid CPR and First Aid certificate issued by an authorized agency and once employed employees are responsible for maintaining up-to-date certificates. 3) California Child Care: Preventive Health & Safety Certificate. 4) Valid Class C Driver's license & availability of private transportation. KNOWLEDGE OF: • Early childhood education programs, education theory, health and nutrition standards, operations and procedures, and developmentally appropriate practice. • Preschool Early Learning Foundations.
