Job Summary:
The Lead Teacher is responsible for the overall care, supervision, and instruction of a specific age group. This role designs and implements a developmentally appropriate curriculum, assesses children’s progress, and partners with families to support each child's growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum & Instruction: Plan, prepare, and implement the daily curriculum in alignment with center philosophy and state standards.
Classroom Management: Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment that adheres to licensing regulations and ratio requirements.
Assessment: Conduct ongoing observation and documentation (ex., portfolios, learning assessments) to track children's development and inform lesson planning.
Communication: Conduct parent-teacher conferences and provide daily written and verbal communication regarding the child's activities, development, and needs.
Team Leadership: Direct and mentor the Assistant Teacher and Floaters in the classroom, delegating tasks and fostering a collaborative team environment.
Qualifications:
CDA, Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
Minimum 1 year of documented experience working with children in a licensed childcare facility.
Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred, but can be acquired
