Giving Tree Early Learning is the Early Childhood program of Hasten Hebrew Academy of Indianapolis, serving children from 12 months through PreK. Rooted in a Reggio-inspired philosophy, our program values curiosity, creativity, and the natural development of each child.

Position Overview:

Giving Tree Early Learning is seeking a caring, reflective, and engaging Lead Teacher to work with children ages 12 months through PreK. This role focuses on creating a nurturing, child-centered environment where learning is guided by student interests, exploration, and intentional teaching.

The ideal candidate is patient, observant, and passionate about early childhood education, with an appreciation for play-based and inquiry-driven learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain a safe, warm, and engaging classroom environment
  • Plan and facilitate developmentally appropriate, play-based and inquiry-driven learning experiences
  • Observe children closely to guide curriculum based on their interests and developmental needs
  • Support children's social-emotional growth, independence, and communication skills
  • Establish consistent, thoughtful routines that help children feel secure and confident
  • Document student learning through observations, photos, and reflections
  • Build strong, positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
  • Collaborate with assistants, specialists, and administration
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and aesthetically inviting classroom environment
  • Ensure compliance with all licensing and safety requirements

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with young children (12 months-PreK) required
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred (or CDA equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of child development and play-based learning
  • Interest in or experience with Reggio-inspired practices preferred
  • Warm, patient, and responsive approach to working with young children
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Openness to reflection, growth, and professional development
