REPORTS TO: Building Administrator. JOB GOALS:To support the delivery of School District 91's written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement.To help the teacher provide a well organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Prepares for classroom activities under the supervision of the classroom teacher.Works with small groups of students to reinforce materials initially introduced by the classroom teacher.Performs clerical duties and helps teacher prepare materials.Assists students with personal needs, which may include dressing, toileting, changing diapers, hand washing, feeding, etc.Follows the direction of the teacher in implementing the specific programs to meet IEP goals and objectives.Attends meetings, training and in-service as requested.Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality.Has regular and predictable attendance. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs all other duties as assigned. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:This position is scheduled for 27.5 hours per week during the school year starting at 7:30am. The successful candidate may ride on the school bus to assist with the students and then work in the classroom. Wages will be in accordance with the Classified Salary Schedule as a Grade 5 - $16.39 or $17.19 (with a bachelors degree or 5 years relevant experience) per hour. Benefits will be in accordance with Board Policy.This is an "at will" position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time or for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The "employment at will" policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees of District 91.
