Early Childhood Substitute Assistant Teacher

Teachers For Tomorrow was started by someone who ranchildcare centers herself and knows what it takes to keep a classroom runningwell when a regular teacher is out. As a Substitute Assistant Teacher, you willwork alongside lead teachers in childcare centers across the Twin Cities metro,actively supporting daily routines and engaging children ages 6 weeks to 6years in learning through play.

What you will do

• Assist the lead teacher in supervising children and keeping them safe throughout the day
• Support meals, rest periods, transitions, and hands-on activities that promote social, emotional, and physical growth
• Help maintain classroom records, including attendance and observations, and keep information about children and families confidential
• Follow the lead teacher's lesson plans and classroom management approach, and step in with confidence when things get busy

What you need

• An associate degree or higher in early childhood education, child development, or a related field, or a high school diploma plus at least 1,040 hours of paid experience with children under six and documented coursework in child development or early childhood education
• Experience in a licensed early childhood or childcare setting is strongly preferred
• At least 18 years old, with reliable transportation and willingness to travel up to 25 miles
• Ability to pass a background check
• A smartphone with internet access for scheduling and communication
