Virginia Chance School is seeking enthusiastic, positive, creative and nurturing Early Childhood (Preschool) Substitutes and Classroom Floaters for our Early Childhood Program who know the ages and stages of early childhood development; responsible for implementing a developmentally appropriate, whole child, progressive educational curriculum for developing children socially, emotionally, intellectually, morally, and physically. Reports to: Director of Early Childhood Program Schedule: Substitutes needed M-F as available from 8:00 am to 12:00/12:30 pm; Classroom Floaters are needed M-F as available from 12:00 pm/12:30 pm to 3:30 pm Pay Rate: $15.25 - $20.00 hourly based on education and experience. Anticipated Start Date: As available The position closes once all openings are filled. Position Requirements - Alignment with VCS Mission & Vision and progressive education tenets required (see application or website for details);
- Must be 18 years of age or older;
- Must have reliable and timely transportation to and from work;
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (i.e. GED);
- Professional experience working with preschool-aged children preferred;
- Education students or degree in Early Childhood Education/related field preferred;
Candidates must be able to perform the following with or without accommodations: Climb staircases multiple times a day (indoors/outdoors) Stand, sit, squat, kneel and walk for extended periods of time Walk on varied surfaces for extended periods of time Work outdoors daily and for extended periods in varying degrees of cold and hot temperatures, humidity, rain, wind and snow, among others
Candidates must: Complete TB Risk Assessment questionnaire and/or Skin Test as required by reviewing physican Complete Kentucky and Out-of-State Background Checks Complete professional development and training as required by the Commonwealth of Kentucky; If previously employed by a childcare facility in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, candidates must have up-to-date hours in ECE-TRIS
