Schedule: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday (full-time/40 hours per week)
Momentum PTN is hiring a Early Head Start (EHS) Center Based Educator for our Early Head Start (EHS) program. As the EHS Center Based Educator, you will work collaboratively with the EHS site supervisor and staff to ensure all standards are met. EHS Center Based Educator Essential Responsibilities:
Knows, understands, and implements curriculum through planning developmentally appropriate activities
Plans special activities, field trip, class celebrations, etc.
Assists children with the feeding, toileting, and personal care
Communicates to parents that you are available daily to respond to questions and concerns
Attends all parent meetings and conferences
Facilitates parental understanding of a developmental approach to early childhood education
Prepares written evaluations of each child’s progress as required by EHS standards
Conducts an orientation for all children on classroom and play yard safety
Orients and supervises floaters, assistants, and volunteers regarding the classroom and materials, equipment, and rules
Prepares and posts weekly lessons plans in accordance with the curriculum guidelines.
Provides on-going assessments of infants/toddlers using appropriate assessment tools.
Knows, follows, and upholds Momentum’s policies and procedures
Performs other duties as assigned to meet department and/or business needs
EHS Center Based Educator Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s in a related Early Childhood Education field or A.A. degree with a teachers permit from the Commission of Teacher Credentialing; required
Completed a minimum of 12 semester units in Early Childhood (ECE units) in which 6 units must be in infant toddler; required
Skills and Knowledge:
Read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English well enough to perform essential duties and responsibilities; required
Work collaboratively with families
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Communicate and work professionally and cooperatively with others
Requirements:
Successfully pass all post-offer, pre-employment screening requirements, including criminal background check, TB test and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States
Ability to run, push, pull, bend, squat, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs.
