We are seeking a passionate and experienced EHS Health and Nutrition Manager to support the health, safety, and nutrition of children, families, and staff in our Early Head Start program. This leadership role plays a vital part in ensuring compliance, promoting wellness, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement across the program.

Requirements & Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, CACFP requirements, and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations
  • Lead and support health, safety, and nutrition systems across the Early Head Start program
  • Collaborate with Family Educators and classroom staff to address child health concerns through coaching and co-visits
  • Serve as the primary liaison with medical, dental, mental health, and nutrition providers
  • Maintain and manage health records, ensuring children have access to continuous care (medical, dental, immunizations)
  • Oversee CACFP operations, including compliance, staff supervision, and reimbursement processes
  • Provide CPR/First Aid certification training for staff
  • Conduct screenings (hearing, vision, lead testing) as needed
  • Organize and lead the Health and Mental Health Services Advisory Committee (HMHSAC)
  • Promote prenatal health and breastfeeding education for families and staff
  • Supervise kitchen staff and support nutrition program operations
  • Monitor ChildPlus data and ensure accurate reporting and compliance
  • Participate in hiring, training, performance evaluations, and staff development
  • Collaborate with leadership to support program goals, compliance, and continuous improvement
  • Address family concerns related to health, safety, and nutrition
  • Complete required documentation, reporting, and attend meetings and trainings

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health or a closely related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
  • CPR and First Aid Instructor certification
  • Serve Safe certification (must be current)
  • Experience with lead and HgB/HcT testing and OAE screenings
  • Strong knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and CACFP
  • Intermediate computer proficiency and experience with office software
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Health or related field
  • 2+ years of direct supervisory experience
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred

Schedule

  • Monday – Friday
  • 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Full-time, year-round position
