Ozark Opportunities, Inc. is seeking motivated professionals that are passionate about early childhood education. We are urgently hiring one candidate.

The EHS Teacher role is responsible for assisting the Early Head Start Team to implement learning experiences that advance the intellectual and physical development of children. As well as promoting the involvement of the families of children in the assigned program and center.

This position would start in August at the beginning of the 26-27 school year. This position is 10 months in a year, furloughed during Spring Break week, summer break, Thanksgiving break, and Christmas break. Furloughed employees are able and encouraged to draw unemployment during these times

When hired your title would be EHS Trainee and within the first year of employment, you will be required to obtain CDA and CPR credentials, this is training that Ozark Opportunities, Inc. provides for employees. Once the training is completed and certification obtained your title will be changed to EHS Teacher.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Assist the Team in carrying out the daily lesson plan and appropriate center activities. Provides supervision and instruction to up to 8 children per assigned classroom. Assists with counseling of parents for their academic, personal and social skills development of children. May assist with observation of child(ren) behaviors and developmental goals, requesting assistance from Child Development Staff as needed to meet each need. Maintains a safe, healthy learning environment and provide for children's feeling of security away from home. Work closely with Health & Nutrition Coordinator to ensure children are screened, needs identified and met, if applicable. Recruits parents as classroom volunteers, coordinating with Comprehensive Services for in-kind. Work closely with Nutrition Specialists to ensure healthy practices. Work with Health & Nutrition Coordinator to ensure In-Kind requirements are met. Mandated reporter of suspected cases of Child Abuse and Neglect.

We expect qualified candidates to have experience in a teaching environment or with low-income families. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills as well as basic knowledge of computer operation and software. They must have an active and unhindered Driver's License with personal reliable transportation, a high school diploma or equivalent. Successfully pass Criminal Background including FBI fingerprint and Child Maltreatment checks.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Frequent lifting (able to lift up to 50lbs.), bending, stooping movements within the classroom. Agility to move around classroom furniture and materials. Occasional driving to trainings.
